“The director and PEO position leads a team executing the modernization and sustainment of the Air Force’s bomber portfolio and is vitally important to the defense of the nation,” Richardson said in the statement. “Airmen of all ranks must be held accountable for their actions.”
Joseph A. Peloquin, Air Force deputy PEO for Bombers, has been named interim director and PEO, AFMC said.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is also based at Wright-Patterson.
An AFMC spokesman declined to elaborate on the announcement. But the spokesman said Quigley will continue to perform other duties within AFMC at Wright-Patterson “as assigned.”
“The removal decision was made following an investigation, and it is complete,” said the command spokesman, Derek Kaufman.
No further information was available, the command said Tuesday.
Quigley has been assigned to Wright-Patt since July 2022, where he has served as director of staff at AFMC headquarters, as well as director of the Digital Acceleration Task Force, also at AFMC, and since April 2024, as the bombers PEO.
Late in 2023, Col. Christopher Meeker was removed from command of the 88th Air Base Wing, also at Wright-Patterson.
In December, AFMC said Meeker will face a general court martial on charges of extramarital sexual conduct and fraternization.
Meeker is scheduled to be tried at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois on June 9, 2025.
